On September 9, 2025, a unique city friendship cultural exchange event was held at the Yangxin Pear Culture Ecological Museum. Organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Yangxin County Committee, the event invited foreign friends including Hong Chengyin, Xu Yuan, Han Maonan, Li Anxu, and Wang Guang for an immersive exploration of the venue, which preserves the thousand-year memory of Yangxin’s pear culture. They experienced firsthand the unique charm of Yangxin’s pear heritage.
As the “Hometown of Chinese Ya Pears,” Yangxin County boasts over 2,000 years of pear cultivation history. The Pear Culture Ecological Museum serves as an important window showcasing the development of the local pear industry and the inheritance of pear culture. Covering an area of 8,200 square meters with a building area of 3,100 square meters, the museum is themed around “A Millennium of Pear Charm, Ecological Coexistence,” adhering to the philosophy of “letting cultural relics convey emotions and letting culture touch the heart.”
Guided by a docent, the foreign visitors toured four major exhibition areas: the Pear History Corridor, the Miniature Pear Garden, the Pear Memories section, and the Pear Folk Workshop. In the Pear History Corridor, through precious old photographs, ancient pear-farming tools, and vivid scene reconstructions, the visitors gained a direct understanding of the journey of Yangxin Ya Pears from ancient cultivation to modern industrialization, often exclaiming “Amazing!” The Pear Memories section displayed a variety of exhibits, from traditional porcelain jars used to store pear syrup to modern vacuum-packed pear products, reflecting the innovation of pear-based goods. In the Pear Folk Workshop, folk items such as pear blossom paper-cuttings and pear wood blessing plaques were neatly arranged, highlighting the vibrant cultural life of the pear-producing region.
During the visit, Wang Guang remarked: “I originally thought pear culture was only about planting and fruit, but the exhibits here perfectly integrate history, folk customs, and ecology. Every item seems alive, telling a unique story of this pear homeland.” Excitedly, Hong Chengyin said he would share what he had seen and experienced with friends back home, so that more people could understand the charm of Yangxin’s pear culture.
This visit not only enabled foreign guests to gain a deeper appreciation of Yangxin pear culture’s unique charm, but also built a bridge for cultural exchange between China and other countries. Looking ahead, Yangxin County will continue to leverage its role as a cultural communication platform, inviting more people to step into the pear homeland, learn about pear culture, and promote Yangxin’s distinctive cultural heritage onto a broader stage.
